The Prince Albert piercing (“PA”) is one of the most well-known intimate piercings for men. It is pierced through the urethra right next to the frenulum and usually heals quickly. Both men and women appreciate the PA for the extra pleasure it brings during sex. Visually, the PA is extremely appealing.

Story of Prince Albert piercing
The Prince Albert piercing is said to have its origins in the time of Queen Victoria. Her husband used a ring to attach his penis to his trouser button, presumably because there were no underpants at the time. Even the bodyguards and elite soldiers may have had such piercings. The equivalent for women is the Princess Albertina piercing, which is highly stimulating but is rarely pierced due to individual anatomy.
piercing:
With a Prince Albert piercing, a venous cannula is inserted next to the frenulum at the beginning of the urethra. The needle is initially pulled back slightly when inserted to avoid injury. Once the cannula is correctly positioned, the piercing is carried out by pushing the needle forward until it comes out next to the frenulum. This process only takes a few seconds. Optionally, the area can be locally anesthetized beforehand to minimize pain.
Placement of the Prince Albert Piercing
The Prince Albert piercing is undoubtedly one of the most popular male intimate piercings ! We pierce this piercing behind the glans through the urethra, the jewelry comes out at the front of the urethra. The piercing is only made through the urethra, the glans itself is not injured. Therefore, the piercing is actually far less harmful than it appears.
Healing time of Prince Albert piercing
Through repeated contact with urine, all intimate piercings that are pierced through the urethra heal quickly and easily. It is important to urinate a lot. So drink a lot of water. The Prince Albert will then heal completely in 2 to 3 weeks.
The healing process of an intimate piercing varies from 2 weeks to 6 months until it is completely healed, rarely it takes longer. Like other piercings, it should be cleaned with ProntoLind spray twice a day for at least the first 3 weeks and then coated with ProntoLind gel. It is important to only touch the pierced area and the piercing with washed and disinfected hands. With the right care and the right care products, the wild growth (also called proud flesh) that rarely occurs with piercings can be counteracted.
- Alcohol or chlorine based disinfectants should be avoided.
- There is no ban on sex; usually one takes a break of a few days before the next act.
- Initially, it is recommended to wear a condom during sexual intercourse to protect the piercing.
We use this jewelry when piercing
We avoid an unpleasant, "cutting" effect when subjected to stress by piercing the piercing accordingly. For piercing, we use a ball closure ring made of titanium G23 and a wire thickness of at least 3.2 mm. Depending on the anatomy of the wearer, up to 6 mm wire thickness is possible. We are happy to advise you on this; please simply note the desired wire thickness when making the appointment.
Risks of Prince Albert piercing
Actually none, as long as the piercing is done well and the right jewelry is used. However, the urine stream can "split" which makes some men sit down and pee in the beginning.
stimulus:
The Prince Albert has a stimulating effect on both partners: the man feels a significantly stronger stimulation on his frenulum and in the urethra. The glans also becomes more sensitive. The woman also feels the PA particularly well, of course; the G-spot can be stimulated in particular.
Jewelry:
It is recommended to stretch the PA in any case, otherwise the ring may cut in. The most popular diameter is 4 mm; the ring size can be from 16 mm to 18 mm. Every customer has their own ideas here.
You can also increase the stimulation by stretching and using larger jewelry. There are many ways to accessorize a PA.
Rings, horseshoe rings, bananas and much more are possible and not only look good but also give a unique feeling.
The ideal care for the Prince Albert Piercing
Even though the Prince Albert piercing only has a short piercing channel, careful care is required.
We have already mentioned the most important thing in general piercing care : In the first month after piercing, cleaning twice a day is essential. This is followed by care with our piercing spray . The spray is available in our piercing studio.
In addition to avoiding saunas, tanning beds and bathtubs for 4 weeks, we also recommend not going swimming with it. This applies equally to chlorinated water and natural water/salt water. We explain the reasons for this in detail in this video .
We recommend avoiding foreign body fluids and mechanical stress in the first month after piercing. This will avoid unnecessary risks of painful tearing and inflammation.
Interesting facts and special features
Of course, we don't just pierce the Prince Albert piercing, we can also stretch it if you wish. However, we wait at least 2 months after piercing, and in many cases even longer. This varies greatly from individual to individual, so we cannot commit to a fixed time period.
In rare cases, bleeding can occur after a Prince Albert piercing. Depending on the thickness of the wire, this can be a little more severe and can occur repeatedly over a few days. This is not unusual and in most cases is annoying, but not dangerous.
Variations on the traditional Prince Albert:
Reverse Prince Albert (Reverse PA), also called Queen Victoria, which also enters through the urethra but protrudes on the top of the glans and is a kind of “half Apadravya”
Dolphin , comparable to a "double PA", which sits much deeper and starts where the PA ends, i.e. at the frenulum. Usually a curved barbell is used, which creates the illusion that the piece of jewelry is diving through the shaft like a dolphin. Hence the name.
Deep PA is a variant of the Dolphin . Here the two passages are located even deeper, usually close to the scrotum.
Prince's Wand & Pound Puppy : With the PW, a rod is inserted into the urethra and usually held in place by a PA. It is best to imagine a police baton (Policeman's Nightstick) that is inserted into the penis in miniature. At the front of the urethral opening there is a ball that holds the rod. Where the PA exits at the frenulum, the rod is again held by a ball that can be unscrewed.
