Which piercing suits me?
People are as different as they wish for a nose piercing. You should ask yourself how “conspicuous” you want your piercing to be. A nostril piercing with a small gemstone is often only seen when the light hits it and hardly changes the overall impression of the face. With a septum with sparkling jewelry, on the other hand, the nose becomes an eye-catcher. We certainly have something to offer for every taste and also the right nose piercing for you in our range.
All nose piercing types at a glance
With a nose piercing you can put yourself in the spotlight and choose from various piercing options. Isn’t it great that everyone can find the right nose piercing for themselves? You can get it pierced in different places, depending on what you have in mind. Our team at Brust oder Keule will be happy to advise you. We have already put together some details for you to make it easier for you to decide on a particular nose piercing.
Nostril piercing
The nostril piercing is the most common and popular type of nose piercing. The nostril is pierced on one side. Many people choose the one-piercing option, but you can also have several nostril piercings on one side or have both nostrils decorated. It has been shown time and again that more women than men use nostril piercings to emphasize their noses, especially with small stones or rings.
High nostril piercing
The high nostrils are, as the name suggests, placed above the normal nostrils. They are normally pierced in pairs and worn with studs. The healing time for a high nostril piercing is around 4 to 6 months, which is significantly longer than for a normal nostril.
Septum piercing
With a septum piercing, the nasal septum is pierced and a selected piece of jewelry is placed on it. You can choose between a horseshoe ring (half-open with two balls) or a small banana. The banana has the advantage that you can only see the jewelry if you look into the nose from below, which is ideal for customers who might have to hide their piercing at work. After healing, both rings and bananas can be worn. If desired, the septum piercing can also be stretched.
How long does the healing process take?
The healing time depends on the type of piercing and how you are feeling. If the healing process goes well, a nostril piercing takes about 3 to 4 months, whereas a septum piercing takes about 3 to 6 months. To support the healing process, take good care of yourself and your health during this time, avoid stress, and do something good for yourself.
The right care & aftercare for the newly pierced nose piercing
It is important to care for it with a suitable care product, ideally twice a day. In our shop, we naturally offer a product specially developed for pierced skin, so you don’t have to worry about that. The piercing should be touched as little as possible, especially at the beginning, and if you have to touch it, then only with disinfected hands. Please be particularly careful in the first few weeks that no cosmetics, creams, or similar get into the open wound. You should also avoid going to the sauna, swimming, and spa days in the first few weeks.
Interesting: The history of nose piercing
Nose piercings are part of a tradition that goes back thousands of years in many cultures. Indian women, for example, often wear a nostril piercing in the left nostril, as Ayurvedic teachings say that this promotes pregnancy and childbirth. Australian Aborigines, on the other hand, wore septum piercings. The tradition of nose piercings is still practiced today, especially among indigenous populations. Most people there wear piercings for ritual or spiritual reasons.
FAQ
When can I finally wear a ring?
We advise against changing the initial jewelry too early, as this can lead to unnecessary complications during healing. However, if the healing process is optimal, there is nothing to stop you from inserting a delicate ring after about 8 to 10 weeks.
I have a slight cold, can I still come for a piercing?
If you are sick, please do not come for a piercing, if necessary we can simply postpone your appointment. Your body already has enough to do fighting the cold, putting a strain on it with a piercing would only cause unnecessary complications and stress.
