How to care for freshly pierced ears
Yes, you’ve had your ears pierced! You’ll soon be able to create your perfect ear party. But how can you disinfect and care for your freshly pierced ears? Find out everything you need to know about aftercare.
Which earrings should I wear to start with?
If you get your ears pierced at My Jewellery, you can choose a special earring. Choose between a small ball, a star, a heart, or a small rhinestone. So cute! Note: You should wear these special earring studs at the beginning so that your ear hole doesn’t become infected.

How do I properly care for my freshly pierced ears?
After your ears have been freshly pierced, proper care is important. Put a few drops of the care tincture on a cotton swab twice a day for at least two weeks. Clean your earrings and the ear holes carefully, but you don’t have to twist them. Don’t forget to do this on the front and back and disinfect them now and then over the next six weeks! After you have had your new ear piercing, you should not swim, bathe, or go to the sauna for two weeks. After showering, make sure there is no shampoo left on the earring.

When can I take the earrings out?
With such a large selection of beautifulEarringsWe understand if you want to change your earrings quickly. But when do your ear piercings heal? You can expect your ear piercings to heal after 6 weeks. Some people want to change their earrings after 4 weeks, but we wouldn’t recommend that.
When you change your earrings for the first time, be sure to choose stainless steel earrings. These are anti-allergenic and waterproof. Remember always to wear earrings for the first six months, otherwise the ear hole may close up.
What to do if the ear piercing is infected?
Is your earring infected? If so, keep your earring in for the first three days because of possible bleeding. Also, ensure that the clasp on the back of the earring is not pressed too tightly. If the infection does not go away and you take the earring out, the earring will probably close after three days. After six weeks, you can get another piercing.
Why do I need to twist earrings?
Some piercers recommend that you rotate the earrings regularly. This is supposed to help prevent the earrings from “growing in”. However, this method is outdated. Firstly, rotating the earrings repeatedly tears open the small wound. Secondly, you have to rotate the earrings by hand, which can allow dirt to get into the wound. We recommend that you touch the earrings as little as possible and, if you do, only do so with clean hands.

Why do earrings hurt?
Earrings can hurt if a small infection has developed. This happens with earrings not made of an anti-allergenic material such as nickel or metal. Choose stainless steel earrings from My Jewellery, clean your earrings after wearing them, and do not play with your earrings too much. This will prevent your earrings from hurting.
